Today’s Hope September 16

“So why do you keep calling me ‘Lord, Lord!’ when you don’t do what I say? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then follows it.” Luke 6:46-47

We can read the Bible everyday and memorize all the important scriptures, but what good is it if we do not follow what Jesus is teaching us? How can we form a relationship with Him if we are not willing to hear what He is saying? We cannot learn to love as He loves if we are not willing to see what He sees. If we know the hope of the cross, then how can we share that hope if we are not willing to meet others where they are. We aren’t responsible for saving them, we are responsible for loving them when they feel unlovable. Jesus wants us to know the blessings of God’s favor. He wants us to have an abundant life. However, He also wants us to know the humility of serving others in order to show them the hope of the Lord.

Let us be willing to follow the instructions of Jesus as we show others the hope of His love and mercy.
