What is Faith?
The definition of Faith is “strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof” or “complete trust or confidence in someone or something”.
During this season, it’s important for us to have some level of Faith as a believer. There are bible stories that give us great examples of what Faith is and how to apply it. For instance, the story of Moses meeting God at the burning bush. God told him that he would have to lead his people out of Egypt . Moses was at first reluctant, but Moses walked into obedience through his act of faith and began to trust in God.
As a young person I have faith in God and I feel that Faith is something that must have actions instead of just words. Faith is an action word which means you must respond to faith through your everyday lifestyle. For example, I was 12 years old and I was struggling in school with my grades in my classes. I was doubting myself and I went to God in prayer and asked Him to help me with my classes in school. I then activated my faith and noticed that my grades and understanding of my classes were getting better. I trust him completely with my life and I know that he will never put more on me than I can bear. Even in my ministries I must have faith and believe that God will be there with me every step of the way. I know as a young person that I have to step out of my comfort zone and trust that God is with me no matter what lies ahead in my journey. There are different levels of faith and there are days where I must use my “Mustard seed” faith.
I believe as I am growing in Christ, my lifestyle will show my faithfulness to God, because my faith is forever growing, and as it grows and I get closer to God, which in turn will lead to a stronger faith.
Here is my encouragement to you. I want you to believe that God has you in your everyday life and there is nothing too hard for God. Know that your faith can move mountains because of the power of God and there will be times that you have “mustard seed” faith.
Our walk of faith begins when we believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and He rose from the dead with all power in His hands. We have the ability to have unlimited faith and it is very important to constantly build your faith . We can build up our faith by reading His Holy Word (The Bible) and having an intimate active prayer life. I even personally love to listen to songs that demonstrate acts of faith and I am fond of being around people that exercise their faith in God. So be encouraged.
Look to these scriptures for more about faith:
Luke 17: 6 which says, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.“
