Women Who Inspire: Isatel Dutra

From learning to teach beauty to coaching women in business, the inspiring woman for this week shares her story of redemption, restoration and renewal. Meet Isatel Dutra, a woman helping others know their beauty within.

Cyndi Kay Green: Please give us a brief introduction.

Isatel Dutra: My name is Isatel (like eye-sah-tell) I am a born and raised Southern California girl but have been beyond blessed to have gotten to study and work in Spain and Germany briefly and have gotten to visit many countries in Southeast Asia for mission trips. I love equipping other faith-filled women to achieve greater freedom and impact through their business while discovering her unique beauty in the breakthrough. I do that by offering ongoing devotionals, training and resources inside my FB group, one-on-one free Business Breakthrough Strategy Sessions and more in-depth coaching and training on a ongoing basis. When I say freedom (because I am all about faith, fun, freedom & fire!), I mean time freedom, financial freedom, and even emotional/mindset freedom from past trauma or lies that hold so many back from their greatest breakthroughs.

CKG: Can you give us a summary on your journey with Christ?

ID: From about ages 7-9 I was raised Jehovah’s Witness (thankfully my mother was not too strict with the practices and didn’t get baptized there). Then through a friend and neighbor of ours, we began attending various churches through my pre-teen and teenage years. Although they were wonderful communities, there I didn’t really realize what a deep, loving, intimate relationship with God could truly look like through Holy Spirit.

But during my college years, partially due to the sexual abuse I experienced and just unhealthy messages from media, I went down a dark spiral into heavily drinking, partying and even seeking out men/sugar daddies thinking I could “be spoiled, treated like a princess” finding my worth and value from men, almost nearly getting trapped much deeper into the sex industry, but by God’s grace I didn’t.

Finally, I hit a rock bottom in 2009 after a stupid mistake I made landing me in San Diego, nearly left stranded on the side of some hill because things went bad inside a guy’s limo. By God’s grace I got myself to a hotel room and had felt such a deep, heavy almost led-pipe feeling in the pit of my stomach. But funny enough I already agreed with my mom to attend church two days later, that Sunday, and as soon as the worship started, I was balling my eyes out, I knew I needed to come back to Jesus.

Since then, I discovered what a powerful relationship I could truly have with a loving, caring, all powerful Father God through Holy Spirit. Experienced, incredible healing and freedom from programs such as Celebrate Recovery and Sozo inner healing prayer ministry, which I have been trained in and now offer to clients who want the heart and emotional freedom connected to a renewed mindset.

CKG: When did you first become interested in coaching other women?

ID: I knew for years that I wanted to inspire and equip other women with the tools, training and resources to help them thrive and succeed, for years I attempted and did that through Network Marketing. After working with multiple coaches for the last couple years, I realized there is a HUGE gap in what many new and emerging entrepreneurs know and the breadth of systems, training, and tools available to help them shorten the learning curve and gain more momentum. Although I do love my network marketing beauty products, I have definitely shifted more into coaching because I felt like I could help many more women beyond my beauty MLM and help them bring greater impact to others through their unique gifting.

CKG:Can you tell us about Bold Beauty and Beauty in the Breakthrough?

ID: Bold Beauty By Isatel is what I shared with others, how even with very limited eyesight, a 10x magnifying mirror and some practice, I shared step by step beauty tutorials and how to find the right products for anyone even if they are new to wearing making or want to improve their skin care. I offer a free step by step beauty tips and tutorials community here – https://www.facebook.com/groups/boldbeautytutorials

Beauty In The Breakthrough is my coaching and consulting business where I can help women entrepreneurs grow their business organically (meaning not paying for FB ads), how to get many highly targeted leads right into their Facebook messenger through using automation (the right way, which if done how we coach others to do, does not affect your FB account like most bots out there). They can get my free guide on how the top coaches and leaders in the industry are using this same system to get as many leads as they can handle daily plus other additional tools, my community on FB and more through my main link http://www.elmlink.co/isatel

CKG: Did you personally know someone else who was an inspiration for you to coach?

ID: I don’t believe it was one person specifically but for those that I have had the privilege of learning from, how many lives and businesses they were able to help guide and transform has been an inspiration. I honestly pray that what I do in coaching or speaking will bring them closer to a deeper, loving relationship with God.

CKG: On a personal note, what has been your biggest struggle as a blind person that anyone else might take for granted?

ID: Oh goodness! Well I am extremely grateful to God for the vision I do have, in what I am able to do, but not being able to drive is by far the biggest struggle, especially for someone as independent as I am and living in such a spread out place like LA.

CKG: Technology has advanced so much in the last 5-10 years, how has this affected your challenge of navigating the virtual world while being blind?
ID: I think it has only helped me in so many ways. From using the camera zoom feature to see things from a far distance while out and about, to having the magnification feature built into Windows/Mac, to being able to do so much more for work and career from anywhere around the world from your computer is an incredible blessing. I was definitely born in the best time for us.

CKG: What do you think is the biggest challenge for women who face barriers to have an effective ministry?

ID: I see ministry beyond the 4 walls of the church, I see it as a part of the beauty business I run and the coaching/speaking business. I think growing up, things like the poverty spirit (which is far beyond what I can get into just in this interview) keeps many held back from breakthrough because of false beliefs that they shouldn’t have to pay for what they may deem as should be free like mentorship or coaching. Yes some who are employed by the church do indeed do this to their limited time capacity, but by far the most growth I have experienced in my ministry came from investing into myself. You are excellent soil!!! But it still requires knowing how to identify the weeds, removing them and using good seed, nutrients and tools to help your harvest grow and blossom. Seek those that have the success and ministry you want, but are a few steps ahead of you and see if they offer courses, individual or group coaching and pray and ask God if that course, or coaching is what He wants you to invest in.

This is gonna be some tough love for some, but you can either have your excuses or success, but you can’t have both.

Yes, I lived on Social Security Disability, but invested my stimulus check on coaching. I used the payment plans and continued to trust God after much, MUCH prayer on whether or not I should step out in faith to pay for very expensive coaching certification, which in the natural I would not be able to afford, but when I knew God said yes to me pursuing it, Him speaking to my heart and telling me to trust Him, I have seen so much provision, open doors and breakthrough just in this last year. If there is a will, thee is a way! Pray, ask God to show you if there is a way to get to the next step that you never though about or how to steward what is in your hands now to be able to get to the next step He is leading you to.

CKG: What is the most practical thing that keeps you focused on God and His calling?

ID: Spending time with Him each morning. Sometimes it may be just worshiping and reading a devotional, other times its reading the Bible and writing in my journal, or just meditating on His scripture, His face, His attributes, and for me, because I was raised by a single mom of 4, I didn’t have a father growing up, so I talk to Him like I am talking to a father and just silencing my mind and heart and let Him speak back to me in His still small voice.

CKG: As an entrepreneur, what is your biggest fear or concern?

ID: I have had to work through the fear of I don’t know enough, or I haven’t achieved “X” yet, but I have reminded myself that I am more than enough through Christ working in and through me, I am being obedient to the last step He told me to take and stewarding all that I do have the best I can and trusting Him to fill in the gaps. And speak His truth and His word over myself.

CKG: What do you do when life feels overwhelming?

ID: Thank God for His faithfulness and goodness, pray and receive His shalom peace, and ask Him to help guide me to just focus on one thing in front of me and trust that I can surrender these things that weigh heavy on my mind and heart at the feet of Jesus and He will guide me through it.

CKG: What advice do you have for someone who might feel the calling to coach others in being an entrepreneur but doesn’t know how to begin?

ID: Look at your journey as an entrepreneur, what breakthroughs, lessons learned, achievements or things that you love learning about the most, those may be indicators as the type of coaching you could research and pursue. What authors, coaches, entrepreneurs do you relate to the most, what are the characteristics do you love about them the most? Those are clues! You cant give from what you don’t already have, seek out coaches and mentors to continue to learn from or research coaching certification programs, I would love to be of help to guide you as well!

CKG: What is your favorite quote and by whom?

ID:It is my life scripture

The mighty Spirit of Lord Yahweh is
wrapped around[b] me
because Yahweh has anointed me,
as a messenger to preach good news to the poor.
He sent me to heal the wounds of the brokenhearted,
to tell captives, “You are free,”
and to tell prisoners, “Be free from your darkness.”
2 I am sent to announce a new season[g] of Yahweh’s grace
and a time of God’s recompense on his enemies,
to comfort all who are in sorrow,
3 to strengthen those crushed by despair who mourn in Zion—
to give them a beautiful bouquet in the place of ashes,
the oil of bliss instead of tears,
and the mantle of joyous praise
instead of the spirit of heaviness.
Because of this, they will be known as
Mighty Oaks of Righteousness,
planted by Yahweh as a living display of his glory.

It is what Christ has done in me, and what I am called to bring to others through Him
